The 2018 Beyond Cancun Study Tour to Yucatan, Mexico, to be conducted March 24-31, 2018, will provide approximately 16 Flagler College undergraduate students a unique opportunity to study the Hispanic and Maya culture and religion in the heart of the Yucatan, home to Maya civilization and some of the first missions founded by the Franciscans in continental America.

The program will consist of two courses taught on Flagler campus during spring semester and travel to Yucatan during the Spring Break. Prof. Timothy Johnson will offer HIS/REL/INT 340A: History of Sacred Yucatan and Prof. Aggie Johnson SPA/LAS 340A Maya & Hispanic Cities course.

This blended learning environment, which includes classroom instruction on the Flagler College campus and an international study tour during the Spring Break, will provide our students with exactly the kind of high impact learning opportunity encouraged by Flagler’s Academic Strategic Plan.
